Final Report transport logistic China 2006

transport logistic China confirms its position as leading trade fair for the transport and logistics industry in Asia

  • More than 300 exhibitors from 33 countries
  • Around 9,000 high quality visitors from 81 countries
  • German Minister of transportation attending the trade fair
  • Excellent comments on the conference program

transport logistic China confirmed its leading position as a platform for the latest developments, technologies, strategies and services in the transport and logistics industry. Following its premier in 2004, the second international trade fair for logistics, which took place from 19 to 22 September 2006, attracted around 9,000 visitors from 81 countries.

This year, the demand of space was again high and the hall was fully booked. More than 300 exhibitors from 33 countries presented their services at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. This means an increase of 40 per cent compared to the previous trade fair. This enormous growth shows that transport logistic China has established itself as a practice orientated business platform to find satisfying solutions for the transport and logistic industry worldwide. „This trade fair is an excellent platform for the dialogue between Europe and Asia.“ mentioned Dr. Rembert Horstman, Director Marketing Fiege Group.

transport logistic China featured five national pavilions. Belgium, Latvia and Spain took part for the first time. Germany and The Netherlands were again represented in joint participations as they were at the first edition. The German stand introduced 45 companies on 625 square meters. “I am very happy to see that transport logistic China has attracted this year almost four times as many exhibitors at the German National Pavilion than two years ago. Many of them are middle sized companies looking for new business opportunities. I am sure that they will achive new business together with their Chinese partners.“ said Mr. Manfred Boes, President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association and President of the German Association for Freight Forwarding and Logistics (DSLV). Also a large number of individual companies from other countries have attended the trade fair for the first time. These were: Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Czech Republic, Finland, India, Korea, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Uruguay.

“The considerable growth in the number of exhibitors and the strong international response is evidence that transport logistic China is the leading trade fair for the transport and logistics industry in Asia. This result exceeded all our expectations,” stated Eugen Egetenmeir, Deputy Managing Director of Munich Trade Fairs International Group, the organizer of the trade show. transport logistic China represents the whole supply chain of the logistics industry. “Many key players of the transport industry, presented their services at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.”

Part of the trade fair was the Air Cargo China exhibition and conference that showcased the international air cargo industry. “We want to offer the air cargo industry and their potential logistics partners a platform to meet and exchange experiences and information,” so Eugen Egetenmeir.

The trade fair was also accompanied by a first-class program of other conferences and forums. The German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs, Wolfgang Tiefensee, paid a visit to the trade fair and opened the conference “Germany: Europe’s Logistic Hub” organized by Invest in Germany and BVL, Germany’s leading logistic association. Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee: “I find transport logistic China just great! Germany is taking a top position in logistics. I was impressed by the German know-how and expertise represented at the international logistics trade fair in Shanghai.“

“Logistics Excellence in China – Conference in cooperation with BVL” was another highlight. The program was well attended and underlined the position of the trade fair as leading communication platform. “The trade fair was very well organized and included many interesting accompanying conferences,“ stated Mr. Wang Jiaxin, Deputy General Manager of COSCO Logistics (Shanghai). Moreover, the overlapping with the schedule of the world congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) was a success and all participants of the two events could use the synergies.
