The
5th International Exhibition for Logistics, Telematics and Transport (transport
logistic China 2012) was staged successfully at the Shanghai New International
Expo Centre from June 5 to 7, 2012. “The logistics industry has recognized China’s
potential. This is also apparent at transport logistic China, which offers more business opportunities
for logistic professionals from China
and abroad,” said Eugen Egetenmeir, Managing Director of Messe München
International (MMI).
Covering
an area of 22,000 square meters (2010: 15,000 m²), the exhibition featured 490
exhibitors (2010: 441) from 45 countries, who presented the technologies and
services from all segments of the transport and logistics industry. It
attracted over 15,300 trade visitors from 73 countries, i.e. an increase of 12
percent compared with the number of visitors at the last event.
The
leading role of transport logistic China 2012 was underlined by high-caliber
representatives from industry and politics. “Since its successful premiere in
2004, the 5th transport logistic China
once again enhanced international communication and business cooperation which
promote the development of the transport and logistics industry in Asia”, said
Zhou Yupeng, Chairman of the Shanghai Modern Service Federation at the opening
ceremony of transport logistic China.
Dr.
Andreas Scheuer, Parliamentary State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry
of Transport, Building and Urban Development commented at the opening ceremony,
“The partnership between Germany and China has taken another step
forward since my last visit two years ago. The growth rates are positive and
definitely prove that transport logistic China is the leading exhibition.”

exhibitors showcased in full their latest innovations and efficient solutions
for the global movement of goods as well as domestic logistics. Among them, 167
of these exhibitors (2010: 101) came from China, a 65% increase compared with
the last show. Huizai Wu, Managing Director of Vita-Wheel Holdings Ltd.,
stated: “It is a specialized trade fair in the logistics industry. We met a
large number of target customers. The show is a professional platform providing
the latest technology services and good communication opportunities.”
The
exhibition also attracts numerous international participants. 9 national
pavilions from the Czech Republic, France,
Germany, Italy, Latvia,
Lithuania, Malaysia, Russia
and the U.S.A.
all presented their expertise in the logistics sector. Mansor Shah Wahid, Trade
Commissioner, Consulate General of Malaysia, made the following statement on
behalf of the Malaysian pavilion: “The participants are world class. We can see
many Asian companies. In general, we think it is the right platform for Malaysia to be
here.”

logistic China 2012 welcomed a large number of high profile visitors, in
particular groups of professional visitors organized by local and international
associations. Lin Lei, Country Director of Gazeley China commented: “transport
logistic China 2012 attracted large numbers of visitors, many of whom came to
our booth. The organizer provided a matchmaking service for exhibitors and
visitors, which helped us to meet more potential customers.”
In
addition to the exhibition in the halls, transport logistic China was
complemented by an extensive, three-day supporting program of forums,
conferences, panel discussions and workshops on a wide range of topics. And the
first Forklift Idol Show onsite provided exhibitors and visitors with more
interesting interactions. The First Supply Chain Innovation Award was also
inaugurated at transport logistic China 2012. A total of 12 companies were
honored for their excellence and innovations in the logistics sector.
The
Air Cargo China exhibition,
which was held as part of transport logistic China, continued to grow this year.
The exhibition area expanded by 30%. Vasily Borychev, Business Development Manager
of AirBridgeCargo Airlines, stated, “We met the customers we were looking for
and these are mainly local customers as our core business is China. The
exhibition is a perfect platform for us to stay in contact with our customers
from Mainland China, Hong
Kong and Singapore.”

441 exhibitors from 42 countries showcased their products and services at
transport logistic China 2010, with Air Cargo China 2010. 13,500 visitors from
67
countries attended this international trade show and
extensive conference and congress program.
