Topics and Speakers:
Tomorrow's Newcomer - the Low-Cost Cargo Carrier
Mr Sathis Manoharen, Head of Cargo for AirAsia and AirAsia X, Malaysia
The cargo head of a Kuala Lumpur-based airline group that has successfully introduced a regional low-cost airline in Asia, and now internationally, will explain how both the regional AirAsia and long-haul AirAsia X airlines decided that the contribution to the bottom line that cargo could provide was not to be ignored - even though a fast turnaround time is essential to the operation of the low-cost model.
What the Customer will Demand in Tomorrow's World
Mr Markus Muecke, Corporate Commercial Air Manager, Senior Vice President, Panalpina Air & Ocean Ltd., Switzerland
As one of the world’s largest freight forwarders, Panalpina is the customer of many of the world's airlines. A senior executive from the Swiss-based company will outline what the freight forwarder is going to demand from its suppliers in 'Tomorrow's World' in terms of service quality, reliability and IT access to information.
Airfreight – Tomorrow's Airline
Mr Saud Arab, Vice President-Commercial, Saudi Airlines Cargo, Saudi Arabia
The cargo head of a large Middle East-based airline with main-deck freighters and the bellyhold capacity of a substantial fleet of widebody passenger aircraft will investigate the benefits of an airline operating a hub strategy to tranship freight from the Far East to worldwide destinations. He will also discuss the need to upgrade airline fleets and cargo facilities in order to offer reliable air freight services in 'Tomorrow’s World'.
After a two-year downswing, the air-cargo industry appears to be in the midst of recovery - and the Asian market is the driving force behind this trend. The 4th Air Cargo China, the largest international exhibition for the air-cargo industry in Asia, and the accompanying conference will be a barometer of this upward trend. In two discussion panels international CEO's from the air cargo business will give an in-depth overview about the trends in the industry with specific reference to the potential of the Asian market. |
